Due to some (very understandable) confusion about dues – here’s an attempt to clarify some of these matters to make it easier to understand:

CALENDAR(S)

Toastmasters International uses a July 1 – June 30 year for most official business.  (Our six-month club officer terms fit into that, being July 1 – Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 – June 30.)

For whatever reason(s), Toastmaster Membership is based on six-month periods that do not correspond with the above; rather they run from April 1 – Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 – March 31.  You will notice this referenced on the back of the Membership Application, ( NewMember.pdf (1.34 MB)) where the Membership Dues are listed.

Monthly dues are payable in advance, up to 6 months at a time, depending on when a member joins.

1. For example, if someone joins in April (the beginning of that 6-month membership period), they would pay all 6 months’ dues in advance, and would be paid up through the end of September.

2. If they join in July (mid-way through that same membership period), they are liable for only the 3 months that remain until the end of September.

3. In both cases, if the member wants to continue membership after September, he/she would be liable for the next 6 months’ dues (October – March) at the beginning of October.  (Invoices are generally sent out about a month or so ahead of time.)

FEES / DUES

• TI New Member Fee: $20.

• TI Monthy Membership Dues: Dues payable to TI  $4.50 per month; ($27 for a full 6-month term).

• RioCopa Club Dues: Unless we vote to change them, these will remain as they are ($1 per month).
