Starting in February 2005, we'll be having special meetings to add variety and fun to the club. The first two types of these meetings are Speech-a-Thon and Joke-a-Thon meetings. What is a Speech-a-Thon? To put it simply, a speech-a-thon is a meeting with no table topics. Instead as many speakers as we can fit into the meeting will speak. This meeting is intended to offset the Joke-a-Thon meetings. To make evaluation easier in speech-a-thon meetings, Evaluator #1 will evaluate the odd speeches and Evaluator #2 will evaluate the even speeches. A silent vote will be taken to choose best speech of the meeting! Winner gets a certificate and a prize! What is a Joke-a-Thon? A joke-a-thon meeting has no formal speakers! To fill the time, the table topics master will pick members at random to tell humorous jokes and stories. The goal is to have fun, so be creative!
